How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on EasySignage?
Learn how to turn on two-factor authentication in EasySignage using any TOTP authenticator app, and how to require it for every sub-user on your account.
Two-factor authentication (2FA, also called MFA) adds a second step to signing in to EasySignage: after your password, you enter a 6-digit code from an authenticator app. Even if someone learns your password, they can’t get into your account without that code.
2FA uses standard authenticator apps (TOTP), needs no SMS, and is available to every user, including sub-users, on every EasySignage plan.
What do I need to enable 2FA?
- An authenticator app: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, Bitwarden, or any app with TOTP support
- A verified email address on your EasySignage account. The Enable button stays disabled until your email is verified.
How do I turn on two-factor authentication?
- Open Settings → My Account
- In the Two-factor authentication panel, click Enable two-factor authentication
- Confirm it’s you: enter your password, or confirm through the Google/Microsoft/SSO popup
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or copy the manual key and add it by hand
- Enter the current 6-digit code from your app and click Verify, then Done
The panel now shows a green Enabled badge. From then on, every sign-in asks for the current 6-digit code after your usual password, Google, Microsoft, or SSO login.
How do I require 2FA for my whole team?
Account admins can force every sub-user to enable 2FA.
- Open Settings → Security
- Tick Require MFA for all sub-users
Sub-users without 2FA are guided through setup the next time they sign in, or within about 10 minutes if already signed in. The account admin is never blocked by this setting, so you can’t lock yourself out by turning it on.
What if I lose my authenticator device?
Contact EasySignage support. Once your identity is verified, support removes the second factor from your account so you can sign in and set up 2FA again on a new device. Account admins can’t reset a sub-user’s 2FA themselves, recovery always goes through support.
Does 2FA work together with SSO?
Yes. You can add app-based 2FA on top of any sign-in method, including SSO. If your organisation’s identity provider already enforces its own MFA, you may not need EasySignage’s 2FA as well.
